You're probably not going to find discounted perfume at the counter in your traditional mall, so if you want to find discount perfume, get ready to try non-traditional perfume outlets for discounted fragrances.

If you shop online, you can find discounted perfume for really nice prices. The great thing about perfume shopping on the internet is that can replicate the brick-and-mortar shopping experience in a lot less time. Imagine a shopping trip on a Saturday in your town. If you go to a dozen different fragrance shops and perfume stores, you'll spend all day shopping. But you can shop for discount perfume online at 12 different websites in one hour's time.
Online perfume outlets have the same brand name perfumes you would be browsing in your favorite fragrance outlet. These aren't online cheap perfumes we're talking about. One thing you have to keep in mind is that electronic shopping usually takes several middle men and suppliers out of the process, so the prices are naturally going to be cheaper on the brand name perfumes. I wouldn't suggest making a habit of this, but you can buy perfume at a significant discount online and this is a tough economy, so you have to make your dollar stretch. If you feel guilty, tell yourself that you'll buy something in the perfume shop the next time prices are comparable.
Whatever you do, don't just buy the popular discount perfume on faith and assume you'll like it. Just because it's popular, doesn't mean it's good. People often have bad taste and so you don't want to follow the pack and assume they know what they're doing.
Also, even if a discount perfume has a nice fragrance, that fragrance might not be right for you. Everyone has different body chemistry, so a perfume that smells nice on your best friend might not necessarily smell nice on you. Definitely catch a sniff of a perfume before you buy it on discount.

If you really want to try out a discount fragrance online, but you don't want to sneak a smell at the local department store, you can read the fragrance notes on that perfume's online site. Most every perfume house is going to have their own website, and the perfume designer should include a section on fragrance notes. These describes the various fragrance notes of each perfume in their line and give a hint what the fragrance will smell like when it's out of the bottle. In my experience, these aren't perfect, but fragrance notes do give a pretty good idea what you can expect, once you get the terminology down.

For those perfume customers who want to try on their perfume and buy it all at once, or who simply enjoy live shopping, you can reproduce the online perfume shopping by going to a perfume outlet. The stores in an outlet mall might sell overstocked perfume or have season special offers, allowing you to buy discount fragrances simply because of the perfume is considered out-of-season or because a manager somewhere over-ordered the perfume and doesn't have the space for it. You'll find bargain perfume and designer fragrances alike at your perfume outlet store, though you'll have to search a little while longer for the designer perfumes you want. But that might be just the way you like it.
