Drakkar Noir Cologne

Drakkar Noir Cologne by Guy Laroche For Men was introduced way back in 1982, but Drakkar Noir continues to maintain its popularity over 25 after its release. Drakkar Noir Men’s Cologne has always been a casual yet romantic cologne and it tends to test well with women, though I get the idea that Drakkar Noir For Men is probably popular with a slightly older crowd than Acqua Di Gio Cologne and other new mens fragrances.

Drakkar Noir Fragrance Notes

Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche is a masculine cologne designed for business and social settings. The scent contains notes of lavender, spicy berries, sandalwood and citrus and I can attest to several ladies describing Drakkar Noir as having a sexy smell.

Keep in mind that Drakkar Noir Cologne has a strong fragrance, so do not overapply when wearing it. If you are the type who is overpowered by perfume and other strong aromas easily, too much Drakkar Noir Cologne can give you a headache. On the positive side, Drakkar Noir tends to last all day.

Drakkar Noir Discount Cologne

Incredibly, you can find Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche For Men for around $35 for a 6.7 ounce bottle on Amazon right now. That’s about twice as much cologne as you’ll be able to purchase for the same amount if you buy Drakkar Noir Cologne in the department stores.

You’ll take your chance that you’re one of the rare Amazon customers who gets their men’s cologne from a lousy shipper (who might send a fake), but it’s well worth the risk when you consider that Amazon tends to stand by its fragrance products.

About Guy LaRoche & Drakkar Noir

Guy Laroche was a French fashion designer who lived from 1921 until 1989. After the chaotic war years, Guy Laroche worked as a milliner (hat maker), eventually coming to work as an assistant for legendary French fashion figure, Jean Desses.

In 1956 and 1957, Guy LaRoche introduced his own line of clothing, known for its vibrant colors, plunging neck lines and practicality. In 1961, LaRoche opened his own boutique in Paris. In 1966, Guy LaRoche began marketing his first women’s perfume, and followed this with the introduction of Drakkar Cologne in 1972.

Ten years later, Drakkar Noir Cologne was introduced to the world, and it became Guy LaRoche’s most popular men’s fragrance. The fragrance house of Guy LaRoche also created J’ai Ose (1977), Clandestine (1986) and Horizon (1993, four years after his death). The Guy LaRoche legacy is now under the guidance of Franco-Swedish designer, Marcel Marongiu.
