Dolce & Gabbana Cologne
One major cologne I’ve overlooked to this point is Dolce & Gabbana For Men by Dolce & Gabbana. Though a little more expensive than some of the other men’s fragrances on the market, Dolce and Gabbana Cologne is undoubtedly one of the classiest scents a man can wear right now. Don’t buy this cologne if you don’t like a bit of citrus in your body scent, but the citrus smell in Dolce & Gabbana isn’t overwhelming – which is a dislike of mine in a masculine fragrance.
Dolce & Gabbana Fragrance Notes
Dolce & Gabbana Cologne For Men features citrusy notes like lemon and orange, while combining spices like sage and lavender with earthy tones (cedar and tobacco). So you have three distinct fragrance types (citrus, earth, spice) combined in one aromatic blend, giving Dolce & Gabbana a richness and complexity that will elicit a blend of reactions. I’ve found in my experience that Dolce & Gabbana Men’s Cologne gets rave reviews from the ladies I meet.
The House of Dolce & Gabbana recommends that you wear their mens fragrance in the evening, which tends to translate to “romance” and “date”, though it could mean a dinner party. The design house suggests this is a manly scent that will impress without gathering negative impressions or making offense. Dolce & Gabbana has a fresh and subtle smell, and I’ve even heard D&G COlogne called sophisticated.
Whether I would go that far, I’m not sure, but this men’s cologne (first marketed in 1994) is one you can be proud of.
One detraction is that D&G For Men tends to wear off quickly, which is a disappointment for a $50 cologne. Keep your bottle handy and respray after a few hours.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Cologne
If you want an even lighter, daytime cologne, try out Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue Cologne For Men. Light Blue from D&G is a solid ocean-scent cologne for men wanting to avoid earthy, woodsy or fruity scents.
About the Design House of Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce & Gabbana is an Italian fashion house that markets luxry items in two different lines: the upscale Dolce&Gabbana and the more casual line called simply “D&G”. Like much of Italian fashion, Dolce & Gabbana is based out of Milan. The fashion house was founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Within twenty years, Dolce & Gabbana was turning over 750 million Euros in revenue per year.
Dolce&Gabbana Fashion Line
Dolce&Gabbana (yes, their main line is spelled without spaces) is all about luxury items and tends to be “timeless”, which means it generally doesn’t fit into just one season. Dolce & Gabbana sells ready-to-wear clothing, purses, sunglasses and even corrective eyeglasses.
D&G Fashion Line
The D&G line sells to a younger crowd and is more casual and showy. D&G even tends to seek urban inspirations, while trying to maintain their luxury label. In fact, D&G was voted the United Kingdom’s best luxury brand. Besides clothes, D&G sells both timepieces and mobile phones in partnership with Motorola.
